Woodstock Youth Hockey would love to offer Vermont State Tournament Bound Girls Teams (14U, 12U, and 10U) to play in the ‘25/’26 Season. Final team configurations will be dependent on final registration numbers compiled during Summer 2025. If we don’t have enough players for 3 separate girls teams, we will offer combined age group teams, (e.g., 14U girls alone and 10/12U girls combined or 12/14U girls combined with 10U girls alone). Based on past experience, we do not expect to be able to offer a girls only option for 8U aged players, but encourage 8U girls to play on Woodstock’s co-ed 8U team.
Level of play and number of practices/games will be dependent on number of registrations and team skill level. Practices and home games will be held at Union Arena. The majority of away games will be within Vermont.
Girls who register for Woodstock’s 10U and 12U co-ed programs will be offered a discounted price to also play on the appropriate aged girls team, however Woodstock Youth Hockey requires girls who double roster on the co-ed and girls team to declare either team their priority from the start of the season. When conflicts arise, it is expected that the player will participate in their prioritized choice team declared at the start of the season. Coaches will use their discretion based on players numbers on an event-by-event basis to be flexible.
Our focus has always been, and will continue to be, on fun, learning the game and building a strong program now and for the future. Coaches will emphasize and work on the fundamentals of skating and hockey in an interesting and challenging style that keeps the girls busy, active, and smiling.
Generally girls should have skated in the Learn To Play Program and/or played with an 8U Co-Ed team BEFORE joining a girls team, however girls with some basic skating skills who have a desire to try hockey will be encouraged to register. Girls who are more experienced hockey players may join with the intention of encouraging new friends to try the sport.
USA Hockey membership is required prior to registration.
